Jessica grew up reading every scary book she could get my hands on, usually under the covers with a flashlight long after she was supposed to be asleep. Subsiding on Scholastic Book Fairs and trips to the local mall where, with a $5 allowance in her pocket, she could just afford a Christopher Pike paperback, she loved the way that being scared by a book made her feel – the anticipation, the dread, the terror – all churning around in the pit of her stomach.

Jessica’s writing seeks to replicate that feeling for adults – realistic, cerebral, and centered around a female lead. She believes that paranormal fiction doesn’t have to be full of monsters or blood and gore, because sometimes the strangest things are the most subtle and unexpected.
